## Description

Up to £150,000 base + bonus + excellent benefits

A leading financial technology firm is looking to appoint an experienced Database Platform Engineer to join its growing Platform Engineering team.

Working across both on-premise infrastructure and AWS, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and operating highly available database platforms that support large-scale engineering workloads. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys automation, performance tuning, and solving complex infrastructure challenges.

The role

 * Build, operate, and scale enterprise database platforms
 * Support PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, CockroachDB and other relational database technologies
 * Develop automation using Python, Terraform, and Ansible
 * Optimise database performance, resilience, and scalability
 * Design and improve monitoring, alerting, and platform reliability
 * Collaborate closely with software and platform engineering teams
 * Drive operational excellence across mission-critical database services

Requirements

 * Strong experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, CockroachDB or similar database technologies
 * Experience operating database platforms at scale
 * Strong Linux and Python skills
 * Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, Ansible or similar
 * Kubernetes and container platform experience
 * AWS experience
 * Strong understanding of automation and platform engineering principles

Package

 * Up to £150,000 base salary
 * Annual discretionary bonus
 * Hybrid working (3 days per week)
 * 30 days annual leave
