Technical Skillset: * Protocol & Packet Analysis: Deep mastery of Wireshark and tcpdump to inspect TCP windowing, TLS handshakes, HTTP/1.1-HTTP/3, and payload overhead. * Hop-by-Hop Path Routing: Proficiency with MTR, BGP, DNS pathing, and ICMP/UDP probing to pinpoint latency, jitter, and packet loss across public ISPs, SD-WAN, and cloud edge proxies. * Synthetic & Performance Testing: Experience scripting synthetic transaction probes, API tests, and stress tests (e.g., ThousandEyes, Catchpoint, JMeter) to baseline throughput and SLA compliance. * Observability & Telemetry Pipelines: Hands-on work with OpenTelemetry, NetFlow/sFlow, SNMP, and custom dashboarding/alerting in platforms like Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog. * Endpoint & Local Network Diagnostics: Ability to isolate client-side issues like local Wi-Fi signal degradation, OS socket exhaustion, driver bugs, and security agent hooks on Windows/macOS. * Scripting & API Automation: Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to query REST APIs, automate diagnostic log gathering, and custom-script performance checks. * Data Literacy: Ability to query and visualize data. Experience with SQL, Python, or BI tools (Tableau/PowerBI) is a plus. * Communication: Exceptional ability to "translate" technical metrics into ROI for C-level executives (CIO, CPO, Head of Digital Workplace). * Strong understanding of Endpoint OS (Windows, macOS, Linux). - Knowledge of Networking & Cloud (DNS, VPN, ZTNA, AWS/Azure connectivity). - Familiarity with Web Technologies (JavaScript, API integrations, Browser Developer Tools)., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. ## Description As a Digital Experience Management (DEM) Solutions Engineer, you are the technical bridge between our digital experience management platform and our prospective customers. You won't just "demo" software; you will diagnose complex performance issues and design solutions that help enterprises ensure their employees and customers have a seamless digital experience. You will partner with Account Executive teams to participate in sales cycles, proving the value of our telemetry and analytics through technical discovery and customized proof-of-value (POV) engagements. Responsibilities include: * Strategic Discovery: Lead technical deep-dives to understand a prospect's current digital ecosystem, including network bottlenecks, device performance, and application latency. * Solution Design: Architect DEM strategies that remove performance visibility gaps and provide actionable data. * Product Evangelism: Deliver high-impact demonstrations that translate that showcase the DEM value proposition. * Proof of Value (POV): Manage the end-to-end technical evaluation process, helping customers deploy and configure the DEM solution based on success criteria. * Feedback Loop: Act as a liaison between the field and Product Management to influence the roadmap based on market requirements and competitive intelligence. ## Related Videos - [Our journey with Spring Boot in a microservice architecture](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/511-our-journey-with-spring-boot-in-a-microservice-architecture) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [What Developers Get Wrong About Application Quality](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/233-what-developers-get-wrong-about-application-quality) - [How I saved 200K/yr in direct costs writing 0 code lines in K8s](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1055-how-i-saved-200k-yr-in-direct-costs-writing-0-code-lines-in-k8s) - [Docker exec without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1094-docker-exec-without-docker) - [Handling incidents collaboratively is like solving a rubix cube](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/680-handling-incidents-collaboratively-is-like-solving-a-rubix-cube) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers)
