## About the Role

* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
 * Proven design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, including transferring bespoke designs into production.
 * Minimum 4 years hands-on SolidWorks 3D experience (essential).
 * Experience with SolidWorks PDM and sheet metal/fabrication design is highly desirable.
 * Exposure to food processing equipment is advantageous.
 * AutoCAD 2D proficiency is a plus.

## Description

We're looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Department. You'll play a key role in creating high-quality, innovative, and commercially competitive products for the material handling industry. This role combines hands-on design work with collaborative responsibilities, supporting colleagues, mentoring junior engineers, and driving continuous improvement across our design processes.
What you'll do:

 * Design detailed 3D parts and assemblies in SolidWorks and produce full manufacturing drawing packs, including BOMs, laser profiles, and work orders.
 * Develop and maintain design standards, processes, and best practices.
 * Review drawings, participate in design reviews, and support data quality across the team.
 * Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
 * Work closely with Project Engineers to ensure projects meet design requirements, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
 * Capture and incorporate design changes from manufacturing, installation, or commissioning.
 * Liaise with customers and suppliers for design reviews, approvals, and sourcing.
 * Identify cost-saving opportunities and improvements in product designs and manufacturing processes.
 * Support cross-functional teams with technical expertise.
