## About the Role

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
 * 5+ years of product design experience in a manufacturing environment.
 * Strong experience designing plastic injection molded components.
 * Proficiency with SolidWorks, ePDM, FEA, and Mold Flow analysis.
 * Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
 * Experience utilizing Lean problem-solving tools such as Root Cause Analysis and A3 methodologies.
 * Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers.

Required Technical Experience

Candidates should have direct experience designing electrical connector products, including:

 * Circular, rectangular, high-speed, or fiber optic connectors
 * Contact system design, plating, mating cycles, and connector reliability
 * MIL-spec or other industry-standard interconnect systems
 * High-speed interconnect or signal integrity design experience

## Description

* Lead the mechanical design and development of connector products from concept through production launch.
 * Design plastic injection molded components and complex electromechanical assemblies.
 * Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior design engineers.
 * Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, testing, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop innovative product solutions.
 * Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using SolidWorks and ePDM.
 * Perform engineering analysis utilizing FEA, Mold Flow, tolerance stack-up, and design validation techniques.
 * Develop and maintain BOMs, ECNs, specifications, test plans, and other engineering documentation.
 * Support continuous improvement initiatives and root cause investigations utilizing Lean engineering tools.
