Must Have - 6-10 years of professional software engineering experience. - Strong backend development experience, preferably with Python; full-stack experience a plus. - Proven experience building multi-tenant or SaaS platforms at scale. - Hands-on experience with RBAC or similar access-control systems. - Solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment on AWS with Docker and Kubernetes. - Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, APIs, and backend architecture. - Ownership mindset and ability to drive features from zero to production. - Strong instincts around code quality, testability, and engineering practices. Bonus / Great to Have - Experience with security products - SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, or similar enterprise security platforms. - Experience working with LLM-powered or agentic systems. - Frontend experience with React. - Experience with agent observability, tracing, or production monitoring. - Strong academic background in Computer Science or a related field; graduates from IITs or other top tier engineering institutions preferred ## Description We are looking for a Senior Engineer (Platform) to build the enterprise platform that Simbian's AI agents run on. This role is about delivering platform infrastructure that enterprise customers can depend on - multi tenant architecture, access control, release quality, and the engineering practices that make all of it sustainable at scale. You will design and build core platform features, ship on a predictable cadence, and raise the engineering bar across the team. You'll work closely with product, security, and AI engineering teams to ensure the platform keeps pace with a rapidly evolving product. What You'll Do Platform Engineering - Design and build multi-tenant platform capabilities that securely isolate and serve multiple enterprise customers at scale. - Implement and evolve RBAC and access-control systems across the platform. - Own platform features end-to-end - from architecture and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration in production. - Build for reliability, observability, and maintainability from the start. Delivery & Release Quality - Ship on a regular release cadence; keep delivery predictable and visible to the team. - Maintain high code quality: participate actively in design reviews, hold the bar in code reviews, and write well-tested code. - Partner with the SDET on testability - ensure new features are built in ways that make automated testing straightforward. - Identify and reduce sources of unpredictability in the release process Cloud & Infrastructure - Build and deploy services on AWS using Docker and Kubernetes. - Work with CI/CD pipelines to make deployments reliable and fast. - Design systems with strong observability, traceability, and monitoring so failures are easy to detect and debug. Cross-functional Collaboration - Work across a full-stack web codebase; contribute on both backend and frontend where needed. - Partner with product, AI engineering, and security teams to turn platform requirements into working systems. - Contribute to architectural decisions as the platform evolves and scales. ## Related Videos - [Shipping Faster with Less: Render on Cloud Hosting, AI Workloads, and the Future of DevOps](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1894-shipping-faster-with-less-render-on-cloud-hosting-ai-workloads-and-the-future-of-devops) - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Docker Compose: Rediscovered](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1978-docker-compose-rediscovered) - [Empowering Thousands of Developers: Our Journey to an Internal Developer Platform](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1519-empowering-thousands-of-developers-our-journey-to-an-internal-developer-platform) - [Nest.js - TypeScript in the backend can also be clean](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1033-nest-js-typescript-in-the-backend-can-also-be-clean) - [Docker build without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100114-docker-build-without-docker) ## Related Articles - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers)
