Our teams operate across London, Nottingham, Atlanta, Stockholm, Munich and Mumbai, focusing on autonomy, ownership and impact. About the Role As a Lead DevEx Engineer you will improve how our engineers build, ship and operate services. This brand-new role bridges application development and platform engineering, creating a consistent, scalable developer experience as we evolve our platform strategy. Key Responsibilities * Own and evolve the service template library for .NET, Node.js and Python - covering project scaffolding, dependency management, containerisation, local development setup and production configuration. * Build and maintain CI/CD pipeline templates in GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps, ensuring consistency across stacks and reusability across teams. * Define and ship observability standards: structured logging, distributed tracing and alerting integrated into service templates so every new service is production-ready from day one. * Build the platform-level observability layer using Datadog, incident.io, and/or GCP/Azure native logging and monitoring tooling. * Contribute to an Azure-to-GCP migration strategy - assessing changes to developer tooling and service templates and building proof-of-concept work. * Partner with product engineers to diagnose developer experience pain points and implement lasting solutions. * Lead technical decisions on platform tooling: evaluate new tools, write ADRs and drive adoption across engineering teams. * Mentor and support Cloud Platform team engineers and serve as a go-to resource for product engineers working with platform tooling. Interview Process * Screening call with Internal Recruiter (30 minutes) * Video interview with Hiring Manager (45 minutes) * In-person code-pairing interview with an Engineering team member (1 hour) * Video interview with the wider Liberis team (1 hour) Required Qualifications * Proficient in at least one of .NET (C#), Node.js, or Python - able to build, configure, and template production-grade services. * Strong GCP experience (Azure experience is desirable). * Hands-on experience designing reusable CI/CD pipeline templates in GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. * Comfortable with containerisation (Docker) and deployment on Kubernetes or Cloud Run. * Observability experience with Datadog, incident.io, or cloud-native logging and monitoring (GCP Cloud Operations or Azure Monitor). * Infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform. * Track record of driving adoption - building tools that engineers use, writing documentation that is read. Hybrid Working Policy Team members are required to be in the office at least three days a week, but we also value flexibility and encourage collaboration and efficient workflow. ## Related Videos - [From DevOps to Scaled DevOps: How We’re Rebuilding Continuous Delivery as a Platform](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100018-from-devops-to-scaled-devops-how-we-re-rebuilding-continuous-delivery-as-a-platform) - [The journey from developer to devops - what i've learnt along the way](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/238-the-journey-from-developer-to-devops-what-i-ve-learnt-along-the-way) - [Docker Compose: Rediscovered](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1978-docker-compose-rediscovered) - [Innovating Developer Tools with AI: Insights from GitHub Next](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1268-innovating-developer-tools-with-ai-insights-from-github-next) - [#90DaysOfDevOps - The DevOps Learning Journey](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/548-90daysofdevops-the-devops-learning-journey) - [GitOps for the people](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/815-gitops-for-the-people) ## Related Articles - [DevOps Engineer Salary [2023]](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/203-devops-engineer-salary-2023) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Software Engineer Salary London](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/252-software-engineer-salary-london) - [Data Engineer Salary UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/253-data-engineer-salary-uk) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Fullstack Developer Salary UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/251-fullstack-developer-salary-uk)
