Desired Skills * Statistical & Reliability Analysis - MTBF/MTTR calculations, Weibull and other life-data modeling, hypothesis testing. * Failure-Analysis Techniques - Root-cause analysis (RCA), FMEA/FMECA, Fault-Tree and Event-Tree analysis. * Modeling & Simulation Tools - ReliaSoft suite (Weibull++, BlockSim, ALTA), MATLAB/Simulink, Python or R for data manipulation. * Maintainability & Logistics - MTTR, MTA, Logistic Support Analysis (LML, LCC), human-factors considerations for maintenance. * Standards & Guidelines Knowledge - MIL-STD-1629, MIL-STD-217F, industry-specific reliability standards. * System-Level Understanding - Interpreting schematics, BOMs, interface control documents; awareness of hardware and embedded-software interactions. * Project & Configuration Management - Requirements traceability, change control, risk management. * Technical Communication - Writing clear reliability/maintainability reports, presenting findings, creating training material. * Team Collaboration - Working effectively with design, test, manufacturing, and logistics teams; mentoring junior engineers. * Safety & Compliance Awareness - Understanding of safety regulations (OSHA) and ensuring reliability solutions meet them. ## Description Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
