Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Network Engineer 2 - **Company:** The E Group - **Location:** Atlanta, GA, United States - **Experience:** Experienced - **Contract:** Temporary contract - **Skills:** Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Wireless LAN, Border Gateway Protocol, Microsoft Outlook, Catalyst (Software), Cisco Routers, Computer Networks, System Configuration, Data Transmissions, Ethernet, PC Tools, Network Security, Microsoft Visio, Multicasting, Network Configuration and Change Management, Network Architecture, Networking Basics, Routing, Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), TCP/IP, Wireless Access Point, Wireless Networks, Enterprise Data Management, Network Routers, Dynamic Routing, Identity Services Engine, Computer Network Operations, Computer Network Technologies, Information Technology, Open Network Automation Platform, Cisco Switches, Cisco - **Published:** August 26, 2026 - **Apply:** https://goegroup.com/jobs/network-engineer-2/ ## About the Role * Strong knowledge of both Cisco wired and wireless LAN network infrastructure technologies. * Configuration, troubleshooting and administration of Cisco Catalyst switches 9K (chassis and fixed port). * Configuration, troubleshooting and administration of Cisco routers (ISR 4K, Catalyst 8K). * Configuration and deployment of Cisco wireless controllers, access points and integration with authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) systems in accordance with policies. * Strong knowledge of network and dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, QoS, Multicast, CAPWAP, etc.). * Ability to analyze the interrelationship between network, server, storage, and application problems quickly, develop alternative solutions, and select the most appropriate action. * Work with and coordinate field technicians to install network projects and troubleshoot issues. * Participate in rotating after hours on-call rotation and provide off-hours operational support when necessary., * Ability to handle multiple assignments and conflicting priorities. * Comprehensive analytical/critical thinking and problem-solving skills. * Effective communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to build relationships, to communicate/collaborate with peers, customers, contractors, and vendors. * Ability to provide and accept feedback. * Takes ownership of work assignments and personal development, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field * 3-5 years of experience in Enterprise Data (wired) Networking * 3-5 years of experience in Enterprise Wireless Networking * CCNP level knowledge expected in networking theory, certification a plus. * Demonstrated personal computer skills (i.e., Visio, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) ## Description * Seeking a Network Engineer with 3-5 years of experience supporting enterprise wired and wireless networks. * The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Cisco infrastructure, including Catalyst 9000 switches, ISR/ASR and Catalyst 8000 routers, 9800 wireless controllers, access points, and Cisco ISE/Catalyst Center. * Candidates should possess a solid understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, QoS, Multicast, and CAPWAP, along with experience configuring, troubleshooting, and administering network environments. * Responsibilities include supporting day-to-day network operations, implementing infrastructure projects, and maintaining reliable, secure network services. * Experience with network automation is a plus. * CCNA-level networking knowledge is expected, with certification preferred. * This position has primary responsibility for equipment lifecycle management, documentation and technical support for wired data and wireless network infrastructure within the Company and associated subsidiaries. * The data network support includes, but is not limited to firewalls, routing/switching, wireless and network security services. Location: * Hybrid work schedule with regular in-office presence several days per week. * Candidates should be located within the Atlanta or Birmingham metro areas, with occasional day travel to project locations as needed.
