This position will play a key role in designing, refining, and supporting instructional and behavioral systems that improve outcomes for students across educational settings (primarily Clairview School). The Behavioral Systems Specialist will serve as the team's lead designer of learning and behavior systems. This Act 93, non-supervisory role combines direct student support, staff coaching, program development, and applied research to help WIU-operated programs build sustainable, effective practices grounded in contemporary behavior-analytic theory and systems science. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, supporting teams, analyzing data, and creating scalable systems that strengthen instruction and reduce long-term service intensity for students. Primary Responsibilities * Consult with classroom teachers and educational teams to identify appropriate intervention and crisis management strategies * Coach classroom staff in the implementation of instructional models, behavioral supports, and data collection practices * Observe students across educational environments and provide input to multidisciplinary teams * Train Student Services staff annually in the WIU's designated crisis management and de-escalation program * Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs) * Collect, organize, and analyze student behavioral data to guide decision-making and evaluate intervention effectiveness * Attend IEP, Reevaluation Report (RR), and Evaluation Report (ER) meetings and provide written recommendations and behavioral input * Design, refine, and evaluate instructional and behavioral systems across programs * Translate contemporary behavior-analytic research into practical, scalable instructional frameworks * Support the development of district-facing resources, systems, and tools that enhance student outcomes * Collaborate with administrators, teachers, related service providers, and Student Services staff to strengthen programming across settings * Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee, This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across programs and districts by helping teams build sustainable systems that support both students and staff.
