## Description

We are seeking an Application Architect - AWS Cloud to support the design, assessment, and implementation of secure cloud-native solutions within HMRC's Security & Resilience portfolio.

This role is suited to a junior architect or strong technical resource transitioning into architecture, with hands-on cloud exposure and foundational cybersecurity awareness.

The architect will collaborate with security, platform, and application teams to ensure secure-by-design principles are embedded across AWS-based workloads.

Key Responsibilities

 * Support architecture design and technical solutioning within AWS cloud environments.
 * Contribute to secure application architecture aligned with cyber security standards and government compliance frameworks.
 * Identify and assess vulnerabilities across applications and cloud infrastructure.
 * Assist in vulnerability management processes including remediation tracking and risk assessment.
 * Collaborate with IAM and security teams to enforce least-privilege access models.
 * Contribute to resilience engineering, ensuring availability, integrity, and confidentiality of systems.
 * Produce architecture artefacts, design documentation, and technical assessments.

Required Skills & Experience
