## About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong hands-on Golang coding experience and solid Java development skills to join a project for a leading financial services organisation.

A key requirement for this role is practical experience using AI tools as part of the software development lifecycle, including leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve coding productivity, debugging, testing, documentation and overall engineering efficiency.

Mandatory:

 * Strong hands-on experience with Golang (Go)
 * Strong experience with Java
 * Approximately 10 years of overall software engineering experience
 * At least 5 years of relevant development experience
 * Strong software engineering and problem-solving skills
 * Experience developing and maintaining production-grade applications
 * Hands-on experience using AI tools in software development

Good to Have:

 * SQL
 * Apache Kafka
 * Experience working with distributed and scalable systems
 * Experience working in Agile development environments, We are particularly interested in candidates who combine strong hands-on Golang development expertise with Java experience and who are actively embracing AI-powered development tools in their current engineering workflow.

## Description

Candidates should be comfortable using modern AI-assisted development tools in their day-to-day engineering work, including tools for:

 * Code generation and code completion
 * Code refactoring and optimisation
 * Debugging and troubleshooting
 * Unit test generation
 * Documentation
 * Developer productivity and automation

 * Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality software applications
 * Write clean, efficient and maintainable Golang and Java code
 * Work closely with architects, developers, QA and other stakeholders
 * Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
 * Contribute to technical design and implementation decisions
 * Develop and maintain APIs and backend services
 * Participate in code reviews and engineering best practices
 * Use AI-assisted development tools effectively to enhance engineering productivity
 * Support application testing, deployment and production issues
 * Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
