AWIPS (Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System) is the mission-critical platform used by forecasters at National Weather Service sites nationwide to analyze environmental data and issue the forecasts, watches, and warnings that help protect lives and property. This role supports the cloud-native modernization of operational forecasting systems through the development and implementation of web-based applications hosted in the AWS cloud. As a Senior Applications Developer, you will apply advanced technical expertise to architect and build sophisticated meteorological visualization tools for the web, transforming critical forecasting applications while mentoring junior developers and establishing development standards and best practices.
