* Strong commercial experience as a hands-on Data Engineer
 * Practical expertise in Databricks
 * Advanced SQL and strong Python development skills
 * Extensive experience working with Oracle databases
 * Proven experience designing and optimising ETL/ELT pipelines
 * Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems
 * Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and data migration
 * Strong understanding of data modelling, performance optimisation and data quality
 * Experience working across the full software development lifecycle
 * Ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable fixes
 * Strong communication skills and the ability to operate independently
 * Banking, financial services or another regulated-industry background would be advantageous
 * Exposure to Azure data services, CI/CD, data governance or lineage would be beneficial

## Description

An experienced Data Engineer is required to support a major data transformation and cloud modernisation programme within a leading financial services organisation.

This is a hands-on delivery role focused on designing scalable data pipelines, migrating legacy data assets and developing enterprise-grade data solutions using Databricks, Python, SQL and Oracle. The successful contractor will work closely with architects, analysts and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into reliable technical solutions.
