Preferred Education and Experience * Experience with finance, enterprise SaaS, or highly regulated domains (SOX, SOC 2, FedRamp, GDPR). * Prior OneStream or financial CPM Experience. * Experience building internal developer platforms or large-scale platform modernization initiatives. * Experience with multi-tenant architecture and enterprise identity patterns. * Experience in high availability systems, and global scale operations. * Strong technical judgment with a track record of pragmatic decisions and long-term architectural thinking. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Experienced Systems thinker who is able to see the whole platform ecosystem, not just individual services. * High-accountability leader to set clear expectations and delivers measurable results. * Exceptional "Builder of builders" proven to develop leaders and multiplies impact through people. * Highly skilled and proven pragmatic technologist. * Proven track record for building platform capabilities that make product teams and customers successful. * Exceptional operationally mature to drive reliability, security, and scalability as first-class outcomes. ## Description As the Senior Director of Engineering, you'll lead multiple engineering teams responsible for critical capabilities such as identity and access management, shared services, runtime and infrastructure platforms, observability, reliability engineering, and foundational architecture patterns. You will be accountable for technical direction, operational excellence, delivery predictability, and talent development across the MarketPlace engineering org. You'll partner closely with Product, Architecture, Security, CloudOps, and other engineering leaders. This role is ideal for a leader who can operate at two levels at once: Strategic: Define the vision, align the roadmap, drive architectural decisions, and ensure technical sustainability. Tactical: Deliver reliably, improve engineering efficiency, and raise the bar on reliability, security, and quality., * Drive the MarketPlace Engineering strategy and roadmap, aligned to business outcomes and product needs. * Partner with Product to deliver platform capabilities in a sustainable and scalable manner while ensuring clear architectural foundations are established * Establish and communicate platform priorities based on customer impact, risk reduction, cost efficiency, and developer productivity. * Lead execution across multiple teams and programs with a focus on predictable delivery, high quality, and measurable outcomes. * Build a culture of disciplined software engineering: strong planning, clear requirements, pragmatic architecture, and effective release management. * Ensure high-quality platform APIs, service contracts, backward compatibility, and versioning strategies * Own platform-wide reliability outcomes: availability, latency, error rates, and resilience patterns. * Partner with SRE/CloudOps to improve incident response, postmortems, operational runbooks, and reliability engineering practices. * Ensure services are designed with security-by-default, compliance alignment, and strong governance. * Work closely with Security teams to implement best practices for secrets management, secure SDLC, vulnerability management, and identity models. * Champion internal developer experience: self-service infrastructure, CI/CD modernization, test automation, and streamlined workflows. * Reduce friction and cognitive load for product teams by building tooling, documentation, and platform abstractions that scale * Drive architectural direction: service boundaries, data patterns, eventing, multi-tenancy models, and consistency across systems. * Ensure long-term maintainability by managing technical debt and enabling modernization. * Establish and enforce standards (observability, security posture, patterns, tech choices) without becoming a bureaucratic blocker. * Lead, coach, and grow Engineering Directors, Engineering Managers, Staff+ Engineers, and technical leaders. * Build a talent strategy: hiring, onboarding, retention, performance management, and succession planning. * Create a culture of accountability, high trust, learning, and healthy engineering rigor. * Partner with Product, Quality, UX/Design, Customer Success, Support, etc teams to ensure platform implementations are understood for customer/real-world impact or needs. * Communicate clearly to executives and stakeholders: roadmap status, risk, tradeoffs, and technical strategy., Leads enterprise software engineering strategy, AI and machine learning adoption, cloud platform architecture, legacy modernization, and generative AI deployments. Oversees engineering managers and principal engineers, establishes governance and operational standards, mentors technical teams, and aligns technical roadmaps with executive business goals. The role also drives ethical AI practices, MLOps governance, scalable software delivery, organizational hiring strategies, and cross-functional technology transformation across healthcare systems.
