Preferred Qualifications * Next Generation Sequencing data analysis tools and workflows. * Experience reading and writing object-oriented languages, such as Python, Java, Google Web Toolkit, .NET, or C++. ## Description As an Software Engineer II, you will have a basic understanding of all software components for Abott. This role will design, develop, test, and maintain software components of moderate complexity with the general instruction from senior engineers and drive tasks to completion. This role will leverage well-developed professional and technical expertise to work collaboratively on cross-functional agile teams to deliver high quality software. Working in our Software Engineering teams, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and sustaining software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. You will design and create engineering specifications for building software programs based on a broad knowledge of information systems and determine what development methodology to use after documenting software requirements. What You'll Work On Include, but are not limited to, the following: * Demonstrate basic theories, skills, and practices to accomplish work assignments of low to medium complexity. * Build defined features, investigate, and fix bugs, and write tests related to software components of moderate complexity with limited instructions for new projects and work provided by leadership. * Initiate independent software design with guidance from others.
