The position ensures reliable network connectivity and system interoperability during experiment preparation, integration testing, pilot runs, record runs, and other mission events. Primary Responsibilities * Install, configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, network cabling, storage devices, Voice over Internet Protocol equipment, and associated network components. * Configure network devices in accordance with Army Regulation 25-2, applicable DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides, and approved configuration baselines. * Monitor SIMNET availability, performance, capacity, connectivity, and cybersecurity status. * Support the network connectivity required to federate simulations through Bifrost, High Level Architecture, or Distributed Interactive Simulation. * Diagnose and resolve network outages, connectivity failures, configuration conflicts, and interoperability issues. * Maintain network diagrams, IP-address information, device inventories, configuration records, and engineering-change documentation. * Conduct or support vulnerability scans, intrusion detection, patching, malware protection, and remediation of identified network weaknesses. * Coordinate network changes with the Government Information Assurance Support Officer and other authorized personnel. * Provide immediate technical support during experimentation events and meet the PWS response and restoration standards. * Evaluate emerging network technologies and recommend approved improvements to SIMNET performance, reliability, and security., Position descriptions serve as a guideline and may not be construed as a guarantee of employment.
