Acting as the bridge between Design Engineering and the Shop Floor, you ensure that every bolt, torque value, and Joint ID is accurately documented and maintained throughout the entire engineering change lifecycle., ERP Tasklist Authoring: Build and maintain detailed repair "Tasklists" in the ERP. This includes mapping specific Part Numbers, Joint IDs, and critical assembly values (e.g., torque, sequence, etc). CAD Data Extraction: Use CATIA to navigate complex assemblies, identify components, and verify spatial requirements for repairs. You aren't just looking at drawings; you are digging into the 3D environment to determine "what else" needs to be removed or replaced. Change Management (CM): Act as the Data Agent for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). When engineering shifts a design, you analyze the impact on existing repair procedures and manually update the ERP to ensure the shop floor always has the latest data. Technical Documentation: Synthesize engineering jargon into clear, logical repair steps, similar to a Technical Writer but with the mechanical depth of a repair technician. ## Related Videos - [It's all about the Data](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/425-it-s-all-about-the-data) - [TresJS a new declarative ThreeJS as Vue components](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/543-tresjs-a-new-declarative-threejs-as-vue-components) - [Car's are Technology on Wheels - Impact of Software and IT Competence in Automotive](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/780-car-s-are-technology-on-wheels-impact-of-software-and-it-competence-in-automotive) - [The Data Mesh as the end of the Datalake as we know it](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/156-the-data-mesh-as-the-end-of-the-datalake-as-we-know-it) - [Cross platform Augmented Reality development with React Native](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/160-cross-platform-augmented-reality-development-with-react-native) - [Remote Driving on Plant Grounds with State-of-the-Art Cloud Technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/251-remote-driving-on-plant-grounds-with-state-of-the-art-cloud-technologies) ## Related Articles - [How software is steering vehicle technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/515-how-software-is-steering-vehicle-technology) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [What is Software Engineering?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/289-what-is-software-engineering) - [System change: restart as developer?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/39-system-change-restart-as-developer) - [Résumé-Driven Development: How IT trends affect the job market for software developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/59-resume-driven-development-how-it-trends-affect-the-job-market-for-software-developers) - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market)
