This includes designing the parameters, tone, and interaction flows for our user-facing AI agents to drive meaningful behavior change and internal motivation. Reporting to our Senior Manager, Product Design, you will be part of the Design Systems team, and partner closely with clinical and engineering teams to execute our AI product roadmap through best-in-class conversation design, rigorous evaluation, and continuous iteration., * Design the human-AI interaction experience for Spring Health's user-facing AI agents across web and mobile platforms. * Own the intent architecture end-to-end (taxonomy, routing, and gap analysis) and drive release rigor for AI experiences, including versioning, staged rollouts, and regression testing. * Write, test, and optimize system prompts and exceptional UX copy. You will craft language that makes users in moments of distress feel seen, heard, and important-motivating and uplifting them without ever being dismissive of their challenges. * Partner deeply with Clinical and Product teams to ensure AI interactions drive clinically valid behavior change, focusing on internal motivation. * Define conversational parameters and graceful error handling for edge cases, hallucinations, or ambiguous user intent. * Collaborate with engineers to implement prompt versioning and evaluate conversational quality using testing frameworks. * Design and prototype chat interfaces, considering latency, tool-calling UI, and user onboarding within our core design system. * Act as a strategic design leader, regularly presenting conversational architecture, AI performance insights, and product vision to executives and extended leadership teams. What success looks like: * Optimize AI interaction resolution rates and reduce the necessity for human fallback through refined conversational flows. * Maintain exceptionally high member satisfaction scores specifically for AI-driven conversational experiences. * Successfully define and integrate reusable AI interaction patterns into the design system within the first 6 months. * Reduce AI hallucination/off-brand response rates based on internal quality evaluations. What you'll bring: * Deep intellectual curiosity and a drive to tinker. You don't treat AI as a novelty-you actively use it as a collaborator to think better and accelerate your own workflows. * Strong portfolio demonstrating complex human-AI interaction design, underlying logic, and user flows. * Deep understanding of LLM capabilities and constraints (e.g., context windows, streaming). * Familiarity with prompt engineering and testing methodologies. * A passion for incorporating user insights into evals and other metrics to improve conversational quality. * Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with engineering and clinical experts. * Top-notch communication and executive presence. You excel at cross-functional collaboration and can articulate complex AI and design concepts clearly to organizational leadership. ## Related Videos - [Boost Productivity with AI: Figma & Playwright MCP Workflows - Aris Markogiannakis](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1768-boost-productivity-with-ai-figma-playwright-mcp-workflows-aris-markogiannakis) - [Swapping Low Latency Data Storage Under High Load](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/746-swapping-low-latency-data-storage-under-high-load) - [Python-Based Data Streaming Pipelines Within Minutes](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1233-python-based-data-streaming-pipelines-within-minutes) - [Design Patterns For AI Products in 2026](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100255-design-patterns-for-ai-products-in-2026) - [Designing the Future of Human<>Agent Collaboration](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1447-designing-the-future-of-human-agent-collaboration) - [Fireside Chat with Kris Rasmussen, CTO at Figma](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/982-fireside-chat-with-kris-rasmussen-cto-at-figma) ## Related Articles - [The future is here: How artificial intelligence is influencing UX design](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/65-the-future-is-here-how-artificial-intelligence-is-influencing-ux-design) - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [Graph and AI Trends 2026: Why Is AI Running but Not Yet Delivering?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/680-graph-and-ai-trends-2026-why-is-ai-running-but-not-yet-delivering) - [Dev Digest 132 - Binging WADFlix?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/473-dev-digest-132-binging-wadflix) - [Dev Digest 122 - Cracks in the polyfill](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/457-dev-digest-122-cracks-in-the-polyfill) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers)
