BS degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field 7. 5+ years of experience in Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineering and with experience in machine design or electrical component development 8. Experience designing electromechanical assemblies (robotics, automotive, aerospace, industrial automation) 9. Experience with SOLIDWORKS, Siemens NX or similar CAD tools 10. Experience with prototyping processes and materials 11. Experience with embedded systems and communication protocols 12. Experience in tolerance analysis, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: 13. Experience in power electronics and battery management programming 14. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) 15. Experience with simulation tools conducting finite element analysis: structural and modal 16. The Meta Robotics Studio is seeking a Research Engineer. This role is pivotal in tackling challenging mechanical/electrical design problems including designing and developing complex robotics that balance ergonomics, performance, reliability, and usability while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. This role will be part of a cross-collaborative team responsible for initial concept development, analytical modeling, prototype design, construction, and testing; and it may involve research into Electro-mechanics, Sensor and Communication, and/or Planning and Control., 2. Supporting parts manufacture: Working with internal/external partners to support part fabrication and complex custom sub assembly 3. Assembly of robot: Hands on work in the lab constructing sub-assemblies to full system level robot prototypes 4. Failure analysis: Build subsystem test fixtures, design tests, create test plans, perform tests, measure and analyze data, and refine design assumptions 5.
