Preferred Qualifications * 5+ years of maintenance experience on the specific helicopter platform being supported. * Current or previous Inspection Authorization (IA), or foreign equivalent. * Experience supporting Department of Defense, Federal Government, military aviation, or aerospace customers. * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or a related field. * Technical college or Associate degree in an aviation-related discipline. * Previous field-service representative, technical representative, or OEM technical-support experience. * Experience supporting military flight-training operations. ## Description We are seeking an experienced Technical Support Representative to support the U.S. Army Flight School Next (FSN) program at Fort Rucker, Alabama. This position serves as the on-site technical expert supporting the FSN program and will be embedded directly alongside maintenance personnel to assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the aircraft fleet. The Technical Support Representative will provide hands-on troubleshooting, airworthiness guidance, technical expertise, and liaison support between field maintenance personnel, engineering, and product support teams to keep aircraft safe, serviceable, and mission-ready. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced rotary-wing maintenance professional with an FAA A&P certificate, extensive helicopter maintenance experience, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex aircraft maintenance issues in a fast-paced military flight-training environment. This position does not carry maintenance sign-off authority for the customer's fleet but provides functional technical support, maintenance education, train-the-trainer instruction, troubleshooting, and hands-on assistance as required. Location & Travel Permanent Location: Fort Rucker, Alabama, embedded with the U.S. Army Flight School Next team. Initial Assignment: The first six months will require a hybrid assignment in Torrance, California. Travel: * First 6 months: Up to 75% * Permanent assignment: Up to 25%, as required, Maintenance & Technical Support * Provide hands-on technical support to maintenance personnel for scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance. * Troubleshoot and diagnose airframe, powerplant, and integrated aircraft-system discrepancies. * Assist maintenance personnel in resolving complex technical issues and returning aircraft to service. * Provide airworthiness and maintenance guidance in accordance with applicable technical data, maintenance manuals, and regulations. * Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate engineering, product support, and program leadership teams. Aircraft Availability & Mission Readiness * Serve as the primary on-site technical point of contact for aircraft maintenance support. * Support rapid resolution of Aircraft on Ground (AOG) and unscheduled maintenance events. * Help ensure aircraft remain serviceable and available to meet flight-training requirements. * Support maintenance readiness reviews and fleet health assessments. * Assist with identifying maintenance concerns that could impact aircraft availability or mission readiness. Technical Guidance & Continuous Improvement * Provide guidance regarding inspection findings, service bulletins, mandatory maintenance actions, and technical requirements. * Recommend maintenance or operational changes that improve aircraft reliability, safety, and cost of operation. * Coordinate with fleet sustainment and logistics personnel regarding parts required to complete maintenance actions. * Monitor recurring aircraft discrepancies and assist with identifying root causes and corrective actions. * Identify opportunities to improve maintenance practices and overall fleet reliability. Documentation & Reporting * Ensure maintenance activities and technical issues are properly documented in accordance with program requirements. * Record technical incidents, troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and corrective actions in applicable systems. * Prepare technical reports, maintenance status updates, and briefings for program leadership. * Support configuration management, airworthiness records, and regulatory compliance requirements. Training & Knowledge Transfer * Provide technical guidance and on-the-job mentoring to aircraft maintenance personnel. * Support train-the-trainer activities and maintenance education. * Develop and deliver technical instruction, maintenance tips, and reference materials. * Conduct technical demonstrations and workshops as required. * Share maintenance best practices and troubleshooting techniques with field personnel. Cross-Functional Collaboration * Coordinate with engineering, product support, supply chain, logistics, and program leadership. * Participate in technical reviews, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action planning. * Support aircraft fielding, induction, and sustainment activities at Fort Rucker. * Work directly alongside customer maintenance teams in hangar and flight-line environments., This position operates in both hangar and active flight-line environments and requires direct interaction with aircraft maintenance personnel. Work hours are primarily Monday through Friday and will be assigned based on operational requirements.
