Includes demonstrated experience delivering production software through the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and support. * 3+ years of experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures. * 3+ years of experience building and operating cloud-native applications at scale, preferably on AWS (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, etc.). Preferred Skills * Experience in fintech domains, including payments, risk management, compliance, fraud detection, banking, or financial services. * AWS Developer Associate, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent cloud certification. * Experience implementing AI-enabled products using LLMs, agentic workflows, vector databases, RAG architectures, or AI orchestration frameworks. * Experience driving developer productivity initiatives and AI-assisted software engineering practices at team or organizational scale. ## Description Western Union is seeking an Application Architect with 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable applications and microservices-based solutions. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on software engineering experience, a solid understanding of cloud-native architectures, and a passion for solving business challenges through technology. This role partners with engineering, product, and business teams to design effective solutions, improve application performance, and support the adoption of modern development practices, including AI-assisted software development tools. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Western Union will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
