This position is ideal for a payroll professional who is confident working in a structured, deadline driven environment and can independently manage payroll cycles while partnering effectively across departments. The team is looking for someone who can step in quickly, bring strong systems knowledge, and help elevate payroll operations through precision, responsiveness, and process improvement., * Hands on experience with Workday Payroll

 * Background managing end to end payroll with minimal oversight
 * Experience supporting both union and nonunion employee populations
 * Strong understanding of multi state payroll compliance and payroll tax practices
 * Experience working with payroll systems and timekeeping platforms such as UKG or Kronos
 * Ability to interpret policies, pay rules, and payroll inputs with a high degree of accuracy
 * Strong Excel, reporting, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
 * Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented approach
 * Payroll certification such as CPP or FPC is preferred
 * Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or other large hourly workforce environments is strongly preferred
 * Exposure to Canadian payroll support is a plus

## Description

* Manage full cycle payroll for multiple U.S. employee groups, with occasional backup support for Canadian payroll activity
 * Use Workday Payroll and UKG time data to validate earnings, deductions, shift premiums, and exception items before each pay run
 * Review payroll tax balances, quarter end filings, and year end activities to support accurate multi state compliance
 * Apply collective bargaining rules and internal pay practices across both union and nonunion populations
 * Partner with HR, Finance, and site leadership to resolve pay issues, audits, off cycle payments, and employee updates
 * Maintain payroll records, reporting, and reconciliations with a strong focus on controls, confidentiality, and data accuracy
 * Identify process gaps and recommend system or workflow improvements that increase payroll efficiency and reduce errors
 * Support audits, ad hoc reporting, and payroll related projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
