We are seeking a mid-career CEM software developer to join our team. This role is critical in driving our Digital Transformation (DX) efforts forward through enabling and integrating state-of-the-art CEM and DX tools. This expertise will enable us to design, develop, and optimize cutting-edge systems and technologies, giving us a competitive edge in the industry. This role will fill a capability vacancy and provide critical help in: (1) CEM algorithm research and development; (2) implementation, maturation, and integration of CEM algorithms in established code bases; (3) testing and benchmarking of new code components and algorithms; (4) software documentation and training; (5) deploying, tuning, and performance optimization of complex software to high-performance computing environments as well as standard engineering workstations (6) supporting adoption and integration of CEM codes and tools into the broader DX roadmap, As a Senior CEM Developer with our Skunks, you will find yourself helping engineer high-quality state-of-the-art electromagnetic solvers and contributing to all phases of the development process, including the design, test, release, deployment, user support, and maintenance of CEM codes and tools. You will also be uniquely positioned to build relationships and cross collaborate with other junior and senior software developers, CEM codes and tools users, Information Technology (IT) and computer administrators (Admins), and management and leadership personnel through collaborative Digital Transformation efforts. The software developer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Research and evaluate current, evolving, and new CEM algorithms * Design and implement parallel and scalable software programs that take advantage of High Performance Computing (HPC) environments * Establish software test requirements, write test documentation, and identify root causes of software failures and associated corrective actions * Perform new CEM code testing, verification, validation, and optimization * Perform numerical and physical benchmarking of new code components and algorithms * Deploy CEM codes to isolated local and program environments [including workstations and HPCs] and ensure codes run properly and efficiently AS A SKUNK The ideal skunk is an agile, multi-faceted teammate who loves to solve our customer's most difficult challenges. If you are someone who enjoys guiding your team to success, this opportunity will invite you to lead and inspire from an individual contributor capacity. Self-motivated and inspired, you thrive in an environment where you are empowered to work your craft, never settling for the bare minimum. Performs scientific experiments, investigations, observations and related research studies into the nature and operation of natural phenomena in a particular field, using the scientific methods. Develops theories for understanding, characterizing and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and meaningful pattern for the benefit of project advancement and emerging technologies. May participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts. ## Related Videos - [Code to Road in < 12 hours](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1082-code-to-road-in-12-hours) - [How a Small Team Shrank a Microsoft Monorepo by 94%](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1236-how-a-small-team-shrank-a-microsoft-monorepo-by-94) - [Building a hypercar from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/607-building-a-hypercar-from-scratch) - [Schroedinger's cat: Thinking in- and outside the box of quantum mechanics](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/216-schroedinger-s-cat-thinking-in-and-outside-the-box-of-quantum-mechanics) - [Git for Code Reviews](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/429-git-for-code-reviews) - [Stop Committing Your Secrets - GIt Hooks To The Rescue!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/573-stop-committing-your-secrets-git-hooks-to-the-rescue) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Is Software Engineering Hard?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/448-is-software-engineering-hard) - [What’s the Difference between a Junior, Mid, and Senior Developer?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/238-what-s-the-difference-between-a-junior-mid-and-senior-developer) - [Best Countries for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/267-best-countries-for-software-engineers) - [Software Engineer Career: Things You Should Know](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/143-software-engineer-career-things-you-should-know) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated)
