The role will support approved change requests throughout the full development lifecycle, ensuring that solutions meet agreed specifications and deliver clear business value. The role will play a key part in the design and delivery of the HUK Data Strategy, actively supporting the transition from Cognos to Power BI and from on-premise solutions to a cloud-based analytics platform. This includes building and maintaining data models, reports and dashboards, and supporting user training and adoption. The role will contribute to the organisation's data and analytics transformation by supporting the migration to Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, helping define future-state standards, patterns and best practices, and supporting the rationalisation, prioritisationand redesign of existing Cognos reports and datasets to ensure they are fit for purpose in the new cloud-based analytics environment. This exciting role will work closely with Business Stakeholders, Data Engineering and IT to ensure migrated solutions are accurate, trusted and aligned with enterprise data architecture. Other responsibilities will include: * Collating and understanding business analytics and reporting requirements, translating these into functional specifications and live reporting and data solutions. * Providing technical business analysis support, including process mapping and data analysis where required. * Leading or supporting the analysis, mapping and replication of existing standard and operational reports from Cognos into Power BI, validating outputs with business users to ensure consistency, accuracy and trust. * Partnering with stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve, simplify or retire legacy reports and datasets during migration, rather than performing like-for-like rebuilds where not required. Power BI & Microsoft Fabric delivery * Designing, building and maintaining Power BI workspaces, end-to-end Power BI data models, datasets, reports and dashboards, including data modelling (relationships, star schemas), joining multiple source tables, developing DAX measures and calculated columns, and optimising model performance, security and usability. * Supporting the design and use of Microsoft Fabric components (e.g. Lakehouse, Warehouse and semantic models) in collaboration with Data Engineering, ensuring analytics models align with enterprise data architecture and best practice. Change, adoption & stakeholder engagement * Supporting change management and user adoption during the transition to Power BI, including creating documentation, delivering training sessions and supporting users as they move away from legacy BI tools. * Acting as a Power BI subject-matter expert for the business, helping stakeholders understand new capabilities and ways of working in a cloud-based analytics environment. * Providing BI support and training to users across Hachette and selected third parties, managing key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. * Acting as a liaison between business users, the BI & Data Engineering team, technology teams and third-party suppliers throughout the development lifecycle.
