The candidate must be comfortable working onsite full-time and completing a rigorous technical assessment without AI assistance. Must Have Qualifications: 6+ years of related software engineering or technology delivery experience. Hands-on expertise with AWS, Java, and microservices architecture is required. Some hands-on use of AI for software engineering practices is also required. Experience in the mortgage industry is a plus. ## Description Leadership: This is not a lead role; the candidate must be a senior, hands-on engineer Core Must-Haves * Java 17 or newer * Spring Boot * Kubernetes * Hands-on AWS development * Microservices architecture * Production-system development and implementation * Automated unit and integration testing * Current hands-on coding experience Java, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes are non-negotiable. Technical Environment * AWS compute and storage services * EKS and containerized deployments * Docker * S3 * PostgreSQL * SQL and basic query writing * MongoDB or comparable NoSQL exposure * JUnit; Selenium is not required * AI-assisted development tools such as Amazon Q or Kiro * Front-end experience is beneficial but not required; the position is predominantly back-end Day-to-Day Responsibilities * Complete assigned features and user stories within each sprint. * Build production-ready, reliable Java/Spring Boot microservices. * Work extensively with Kubernetes and AWS. * Develop unit and integration tests within the sprint. * Use approved AI development tools to improve software-engineering delivery. * Partner with technical leads to clarify requirements and identify missing details. * Deliver complete business functionality rather than partial development work.
