## About the Role

* System administration within a Microsoft Active Directory environment
 * Group Policy management and configuration
 * Virtualisation technologies, ideally Hyper V
 * Experience managing storage systems including NAS and iSCSI
 * Strong hardware knowledge including building or configuring custom machines
 * Understanding of PC components, RAM compatibility, CPU Secure Boot, and common troubleshooting scenarios
 * Knowledge of CPU generations for Intel and AMD
 * Strong understanding of data size conversions and subnetting fundamentals, including byte and bit conversion and IP allocation
 * Scripting using tools such as PowerShell
 * Working knowledge of SQL, HTML, and general web technologies
 * Exposure to Juniper networking is advantageous
 * A collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for working in a high performance technical environment
 * Strong numerate or analytical degree as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related subject, or equivalent practical experience

## Description

* Managing and maintaining on site and off site servers
 * Monitoring and supporting in house software applications
 * Administering Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
 * Managing and troubleshooting storage systems including NAS and iSCSI
 * Providing expert support across the Microsoft Windows environment
 * Applying strong problem solving techniques including working with the OSI model, DHCP scopes, and network addressing
 * Troubleshooting connectivity issues such as resolving a PC with no internet access
 * Supporting virtual environments and understanding virtual machine layers
