We surface personalized video, tally election results, and keep local audiences connected to breaking news in their communities. We work alongside engineers from ESPN and Disney's entertainment brands to support each other's products and share solutions. Our team uses modern server-side and web technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Node and React to deliver scalable and elegant solutions for new product features and core site architecture., * Build and ship product-level features for ABC News and the ABC OTV station sites * Build solutions for problems of sizeable scope and complexity * Develop specifications and technical designs for new features, refactors, and architectural improvements * Contribute to the evolution of our engineering practices by recommending improvements to development, coding, maintenance, and system standards as you spot opportunities * Review code from peers for design, testability, and usability; raise the bar on what "done" looks like across the team * Identify opportunities to improve our systems, products, and services with each iteration: propose investments in tooling, performance, accessibility, observability, or developer experience and lead the work to deliver them * Influence and drive software engineering best practices within the team, working independently with minimal guidance and exercising judgment in selecting methods and techniques * Serve as a "go-to" technical resource for less experienced engineers.
