Cisco CCNP/CCDP or CCIE certifications preferred. * Technical Skills & Competencies: + Expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting scalable, reliable network architectures with a focus on fault tolerance, performance, monitoring, and disaster recovery. + Advanced hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, 802.11 wireless access points, Palo Alto Firewalls, Infoblox DNS/DHCP, and F5 load balancers. + Experience with Cisco SDWAN and Palo Alto firewalls is required; Palo Alto certification (PCNSE or equivalent) is highly preferred. + In-depth understanding of transport, routing, and security/authentication protocols at all OSI layers, with emphasis on TCP/IP. + Subject matter expertise in IP routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IP Multicast, MPLS) and proficiency with VLAN, VRF, HSRP, Port Security, Traffic Shaping, Priority Queuing, and Class of Service (CoS). + Advanced knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, IOS, IOS-XE, VPC, and experience with Cisco and F5 hardware. + Experience writing, testing, and optimizing iRules; familiarity with F5 LTM, F5 GTM, Viprion class LTM, Perl, Tcl, iControl is a plus. + Strong knowledge of networking features/protocols: spanning tree, ARP, CDP, VTP, Etherchannel, 802.1Q trunking, MLS, HSRP, QoS, multicast, 802.11, IPsec, RADIUS/TACACS+, SNMP, 802.1x, and caching services. + Experience with network management tools (Sniffers, Ethereal, MRTG, SolarWinds, CA) and supporting Windows/UNIX systems on networking technologies. + Certifications/experience equivalent to MCSE, Solaris, and Linux are a bonus. + Python, Terraform, and/or Ansible experience for network automation is required. + Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center and SDN/SDWAN implementation is a plus. + Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed. + Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with internal customers, vendors, and management. + Strong analytical, technical, and independent decision-making skills. + Strategic planning, project management, organizational, and time management skills to handle multiple complex enterprise projects simultaneously. ## Description The Sr. Network Engineer is a key technical contributor on the Network & Unified Communications Engineering team, responsible for the engineering and deployment of Gartner's large-scale, global LAN/WAN enterprise environments. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, evaluate, design, implement, and support a wide range of network technologies-including LAN, MAN, WAN, Wireless, VPN, content networking, unified communications, and advanced security solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in switching, routing, firewall, VPN, wireless, content networking, load balancing, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, and network management systems, and demonstrates a passion for continuous improvement, operational excellence, and technical mentorship.
