Desirable * Building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar). * Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates. * Exposure to Linux server administration and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes or Azure Container Apps). * Experience with real-time or IoT platforms, including MQTT. * Experience working within an ISO 27001 certified environment. * Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as AZ-104., We are looking for someone who not only has the technical skills, but also brings the right mindset and approach: * Collaborative - works well with developers, testers and support teams, and invested in making the platform easy for them to build on. * Confident With Suppliers - able to review a third party's work constructively, ask the right questions and push back where something is not right. * Problem-Solving Mindset - troubleshoots complex issues logically, with a focus on root cause and preventing recurrence. * Attention to Detail - strong commitment to accuracy, documentation and best practice, particularly around change control, security and compliance. * Communication Skills - able to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences alike. * Proactive and Self-Motivated - takes the initiative to improve systems and automate repetitive work before problems arise. * Adaptability and Curiosity - willing to learn new tools and keep pace with a fast-moving platform. * Ownership and Accountability - takes responsibility for the systems in their care and sees issues through to resolution., * Azure Engineering: 3 years (required) ## Description We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic IT team in Kirkham, Lancashire. This role is office based, and essential to supporting our clients, resellers and distributors with bespoke software solutions while contributing to the ongoing growth and success of the business. About the Role This is a hands-on Azure infrastructure role at the centre of our platform. You will be Audiebant's technical owner of our global Microsoft Azure estate - responsible for knowing what we run and why, and for making sure it remains secure, resilient and cost-effective. We work with a managed service partner who act as our primary engineering resource for the platform, and much of this role is delivered through them - setting direction, reviewing and assuring their work, coordinating changes, and making sure knowledge and documentation stay within Audiebant rather than sitting solely with the partner. It suits someone who enjoys owning an environment end to end: comfortable in the Azure portal and at the command line, thorough with documentation and change control, and confident coordinating a third-party supplier. You will work alongside our development team, supporting the environments their software runs on - but this is an infrastructure role first, not a software engineering one., * Monitoring, alerting and troubleshooting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Log Analytics. * Security and compliance awareness, including patching, secrets management, backups and secure configuration. * Managing Azure spend - budgets, alerts, forecasting and rightsizing. * Clear documentation and disciplined change control. * Confidence in coordinating, reviewing and challenging the work of a third-party technical supplier. What you'll be doing Azure Infrastructure Ownership * Act as the internal technical owner of the Azure estate, maintaining a clear picture of what we run and why. * Define infrastructure standards, naming conventions, tagging and configuration baselines. * Keep environments documented, version-controlled and reproducible - using Infrastructure as Code where appropriate. * Oversee networking, identity, storage and compute configuration across the platform. * Administer Entra ID, role-based access control, conditional access and MFA policies to maintain least-privilege access. Working With Our Managed Service Partner * Act as the primary technical point of contact between Audiebant and our managed service partner. * Review and assure work carried out by the partner, ensuring it meets our standards before it reaches production. * Coordinate and approve change requests, planned maintenance and escalations. * Hold the partner to account on service levels, response times and delivery commitments. * Feed into technical reviews, architecture decisions and the platform roadmap. * Ensure knowledge and documentation remain within Audiebant rather than sitting solely with the partner. Environments and QA Support * Build and maintain development, test, staging and production environments. * Ensure environments are consistent with one another so that testing is meaningful. * Support the development and QA teams with environment refreshes, test data and deployment support. * Reduce the time it takes to stand up or reset an environment. Monitoring, Observability and Reliability * Set up and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting across applications and infrastructure. * Build dashboards that give the business visibility of system health and performance. * Investigate performance, connectivity and reliability issues, working with the partner where escalation is needed. * Take part in incident response, root cause analysis and post-incident improvement. * Contribute to resilience and disaster recovery planning, including backup configuration and restore testing. Security and Compliance * Ensure infrastructure and deployment practices support our ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications. * Manage secrets, certificates and credentials securely, including renewal and expiry monitoring. * Support security scanning and vulnerability management across the estate. * Maintain patching and vulnerability management schedules with the managed service partner. * Support internal and external audits with evidence of controls and change history.
