The ideal candidate should have relevant industry experience and a proven ability to design, implement and deliver complex, high-quality software solutions., * Strong experience in software engineering with a demonstrated ability to design and deliver complex software systems end-to-end. * MSc or PhD degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering). * Affinity to work on the interface between academia and industry as well as government. * Team player who can work effectively in an international and multicultural team. * Willingness to step out of their comfort zone and expand their current knowledge. * Fluent in written and spoken English is required. Dutch is advantageous. Skills & Tools * Strong proficiency in modern software development in C/C++, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript. Familiarity with Rust or Go is advantageous. * Solid experience with Linux and Windows based systems. * Proven experience designing and delivering complex, production-grade software systems. * Ability to design clean, effective and modern user interfaces for demonstrators (e.g. Qt, web-based interfaces, or similar). * Solid software engineering practices: architecture, design patterns, testing, version control and CI/CD. * Preferred API development skills including REST, MQTT, WebSockets * Preferred experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies * Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols is advantageous. ## Description The main tasks of the software engineer are the following: * Design, develop and deliver complex, high-performance software architectures and solutions for wireless sub-systems and prototypes. * Build scalable, maintainable and robust software components for telecommunication and sensing systems. * Create intuitive user interfaces and demonstrator applications for technology showcases. Take end-to-end ownership of software delivery: from requirements and architecture to implementation, testing, documentation, and handover., * A pre-employment screening (e.g. knowledge security check) can be part of the selection procedure.
