Employees worry about financial security while HR teams drown in admin. Warren is redefining the landscape with Wealth Enablement - a new category making pensions, benefits, and investing modern, transparent, and truly valued. Our entire platform runs on TypeScript, bringing the future of financial products to the present. We're growing fast, and as a junior joining now, you'll get to build real product experience early - with the support to grow quickly rather than being thrown in the deep end., We're hiring a Junior Software Engineer for our growing Engineering team. You'll work closely with a senior engineer or mentor as you ramp up, taking on increasing ownership of features as you build context - collaborating with product, design, and other engineers along the way. Day-to-Day Responsibilities 1. Ship Product That Matters * Build and deliver features for backend, web, or mobile that improve user financial wellbeing, with support from senior engineers on scoping and review. * Take ownership of well-defined pieces of a feature - implementation, testing, and monitoring - with guidance on discovery and production concerns as you grow into them. * Work on a high-impact, category-defining product with genuine market traction. 2. Grow Across the Stack * Contribute to frontend (React, React Native, Tailwind, shadcn/ui) and/or backend (NestJS, Hono, Drizzle ORM) depending on your strengths and interests, with room to expand over time. * Write clean, maintainable, type-safe TypeScript code, with feedback from experienced teammates via code review. * Get hands-on exposure to our AWS-based infrastructure (SST/Pulumi, PostgreSQL on Neon, GitHub Actions) alongside engineers who own it. 3. Learn and Contribute to Engineering Culture * Participate actively in code reviews and architectural discussions - as a learner first, contributor as you gain footing. * Absorb and start applying team engineering standards and best practices. * Build security-conscious habits when working with sensitive financial data, with guidance from senior engineers on what matters most. 4. Work With a Modern Stack * Monorepo with pnpm workspaces and Turborepo. * Frontend: React, React Native, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind, shadcn/ui. * Backend: NestJS, Drizzle ORM, Hono, vitest, bun. * Infrastructure: SST/Pulumi on AWS, GitHub Actions, PostgreSQL on Neon. * Collaboration tools: Linear, Slack, Notion, GitHub, Sentry, Cursor, Claude Code, CodeRabbit. * Engineering principles: reusable primitives, strict type safety, clean code, and cooldown weeks. ## Related Videos - [But, you're not Facebook](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/378-but-you-re-not-facebook) - [Nest.js - TypeScript in the backend can also be clean](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1033-nest-js-typescript-in-the-backend-can-also-be-clean) - [Why segmenting your infrastructure into tiers makes your infrastructure design better](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1960-why-segmenting-your-infrastructure-into-tiers-makes-your-infrastructure-design-better) - [WeAreDevelopers LIVE – AI, Freelancing, Keeping Up with Tech and More](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1786-wearedevelopers-live-ai-freelancing-keeping-up-with-tech-and-more) - [Streaming AI Responses in Real-Time with SSE in Next.js & NestJS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1630-streaming-ai-responses-in-real-time-with-sse-in-next-js-nestjs) - [Unleashing Potential Across Teams: The Power of Infrastructure as Code](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/930-unleashing-potential-across-teams-the-power-of-infrastructure-as-code) ## Related Articles - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Where to Find Entry-Level Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/397-where-to-find-entry-level-software-engineering-jobs) - [Dev Digest 131 - AI'm not sure about OSS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/472-dev-digest-131-ai-m-not-sure-about-oss) - [Dev Digest 136 - No JS(on) of mine](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/482-dev-digest-136-no-js-on-of-mine) - [Dev Digest 138 - Are you secure about this?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/486-dev-digest-138-are-you-secure-about-this)
