## About the Role

* 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, including pipeline design, ETL development and data warehouse optimisation
 * Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one cloud data platform (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud)
 * Solid understanding of data modelling, data quality principles and pipeline orchestration
 * Experience with one or more of: Python, Java, .NET or similar languages for data processing
 * Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tooling
 * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
 * Authorisation to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have

 * Master's degree or Google Cloud Data Engineer certification
 * Experience with distributed systems architecture or microservices
 * Exposure to tools such as Apache Spark, Airflow, Kafka or similar streaming/orchestration platforms
 * Knowledge of Power BI, Terraform or infrastructure-as-code practices
 * Agile working practices and experience supporting analytics or BI initiatives

## Description

* Designing and building scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows to ingest, transform and serve data reliably
 * Collaborating with data analysts, stakeholders and platform teams to gather data requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
 * Implementing data quality checks, validation frameworks and monitoring to ensure data integrity and pipeline reliability
 * Optimising data warehouse performance, query efficiency and cost-effectiveness across cloud infrastructure
 * Maintaining CI/CD practices, version control and infrastructure-as-code tooling to ensure deployment stability
 * Troubleshooting data flow issues, bottlenecks and performance degradation across distributed systems
 * Contributing to documentation, architecture decisions and knowledge-sharing within the data team, Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role:
