## About the Role

ABN AMRO is looking for an experienced leader for the department. We are looking for someone with a strategic vision, and a determination and presence to follow through, with the aim to improve and innovate. You have deep expertise in international financial markets, related models and relevant regulations, who can lead a diverse team of high value specialists., * Academic degree with at least 10 years' experience working as leader

 * Relevant and proven experience within risk management
 * Proven track record in maintaining and strengthening stakeholder relationships at ELG and ELT level.
 * Deep model risk knowledge and robust risk management toolkit.
 * Extensive knowledge of risk management practices and banking business, including in-depth knowledge of products and client propositions, corresponding risk, regulations and models
 * Extensive experience in managing teams with highly skilled and trained professionals
 * Good understanding of the developments in the financial industry and the ability to relate this to the activities of ABN AMRO

## Description

* Leads the implementation and execution of the Model Risk Management Framework, including model discovery, tiering, inventory management, validation, risk reporting, risk monitoring, and risk assessment, as well as setting the Risk Appetite Statement.
 * Directs and coordinates the tracking of all outstanding model-related findings and ensures timely assessment and closure of requests.
 * Oversees the management and administration of the Methodology Acceptance Groups (MAGs), as well as model risk reporting.
 * Defines and maintains model validation requirements and procedures.
 * Identifies and signals issues or problems through validation and other oversight activities, providing proposals for corrective actions.
 * Transition from MV focus to MRM&MV orientation of teams.
 * Integration of MRM tasks with MV department.
 * Change in way of working from process orientated to risk aware prioritization and execution.
 * Expand coverage of MRM over full organization.
 * Foster a deep understanding of model risk and risk management in general within the team., * Debate, debate, decide: Gain different perspectives on impact throughout the value chain. Then take the decision, accept the decision and respect single accountability & responsibility
 * Keep it simple: Start with the goal, set well-defined requirements, proactively address dependencies, seek feasibility in plans and don't overpromise. No abbreviations.
 * Embrace Good: Don't go for perfect, do what's right and compliant
 * From being nice to being kind: Ask and act on feedback, be open about the good, bad and ugly. Reflect, adapt and move forward.
 * No excuses - stay the course: Take the lead, own it. Act quickly, standardize progress updates to ensure timely support and escalates
