When a customer deploys our platform across thousands of developers, our code is what determines whether everything scales: authentication, permissions, provisioning, notifications, APIs, billing. None of this can break, and everything needs to operate at scale., * Opening the platform: Public API, OAuth2, GitHub check runs, notifiers, and ticketing integrations (Slack, Jira, ServiceNow, Splunk, PagerDuty, MS Teams, webhooks) * Product trust and observability: Audit and activity logs, data source health checks, in-app analytics * Monetization: Billing and modular plan architecture What you will work on * Complete the platformization journey. Migrate our existing customers to the platform without disrupting any alerting channels. Concretely: ensure notifier parity, redesign the notification core to reconcile synchronous and asynchronous delivery, build Slack threading and DMs, and enable customizable email templates. * Scale GitHub check runs. They block pull requests for most of our customers: GitHub API rate limits, database load spikes, dedicated Celery queues, and handling very large merge requests. Any incident here is immediately visible to customers. * Redesign our plan architecture so Product and Sales teams can assemble offers and activate modules without requiring Engineering intervention. * Open the platform externally: Build OAuth2, public APIs, and integrations with our customers' ASPM ecosystems. * Evolve a large Django monolith: dependency inversion, typing improvements, progressive decomposition. This is a real architecture challenge, not cosmetic refactoring. * Rethink self-service onboarding, where a significant portion of new workspaces currently never reach their first value moment. * Build and improve health check systems for our integrations. Your role day-to-day You will code every day and own the end-to-end delivery of projects: scoping with the PM and designer, technical design, implementation, deployment, monitoring. You own what you ship, including in production. Beyond your own delivery, you will help raise the engineering bar across the team: reviewing your peers' code, mentoring more junior engineers, driving quality standards, and contributing to technical decisions when designs impact our broader platform., Backend: Python (Django) Go, Rust Frontend: JavaScript (React), TypeScript, React Query, Jest DB: PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch (+ Kibana), MongoDB Observability: Elastic Stack, Sentry, Grafana LGTM, OTEL Deployment: ArgoCD, GitlabCI, Terraform Runtime: Kubernetes (Karpenter, Istio) Cloud providers: AWS and OVH Message brokering: RabbitMQ, Redis ## Related Videos - [Our GitOps approach for deploying an Identity Provider and an API Gateway in a SaaS company](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/776-our-gitops-approach-for-deploying-an-identity-provider-and-an-api-gateway-in-a-saas-company) - [Rate-limiting using eBPF and Istio: How to protect your SaaS customers from themselves](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100220-rate-limiting-using-ebpf-and-istio-how-to-protect-your-saas-customers-from-themselves) - [Reducing LLM Calls with Vector Search Patterns - Raphael De Lio (Redis)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1714-reducing-llm-calls-with-vector-search-patterns-raphael-de-lio-redis) - [Keeping applications secure by evolving OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100152-keeping-applications-secure-by-evolving-oauth-2-0-and-openid-connect) - [Get started with securing your cloud-native Java microservices applications](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/123-get-started-with-securing-your-cloud-native-java-microservices-applications) - [Accelerating Authentication Architecture: Taking Passwordless to the Next Level](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/733-accelerating-authentication-architecture-taking-passwordless-to-the-next-level) ## Related Articles - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [The 7 Most Popular Backend Frameworks for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/403-the-7-most-popular-backend-frameworks-for-developers) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers) - [Top-Paying Tech Jobs (with Salaries)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/372-top-paying-tech-jobs-with-salaries) - [What’s the Difference Between Frontend and Backend Development?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/240-what-s-the-difference-between-frontend-and-backend-development)
