Depending on the role, your interview and onboarding experience may include in-person components, such as onsite interviews or Launching into Better: LIVE-a multi-day cultural immersion in New York City for full-time, non-seasonal hires. These sessions are designed to build connection and bring our culture to life, though specific travel and participation requirements will be confirmed based on your role and location. Your recruiter will provide clear guidance at each stage of the process. ## Description * Design, build, and scale distributed systems using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot, architecting for the traffic spikes and concurrency demands of a live real-money trading platform. * Own the development and optimization of high-throughput event pipelines using Kafka, including partition strategy, consumer group design, and exactly-once processing guarantees. * Design and build systems that process high-throughput, low-latency event streams - ensuring data integrity, cache coherence, and sub-millisecond read paths under peak load. * Partner with product and engineering leadership to align cross-domain technical decisions, contributing domain expertise while preserving architectural integrity * Diagnose and durably fix production issues in a live trading environment, distinguishing pricing latency, strategy misfires, mapping errors, and adverse selection patterns * Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and technical risk before they affect trading operations * Raise engineering standards through design docs, code/architecture reviews, and patterns that scale as product expands ## Related Videos - [Inside Bitpanda's Tech Stack: Scaling a European Fintech Leader - Markus Dorner](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1979-inside-bitpanda-s-tech-stack-scaling-a-european-fintech-leader-markus-dorner) - [Minimal infrastructure for Real‑Time Phone Agents: transcripts in, responses out](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1736-minimal-infrastructure-for-real-time-phone-agents-transcripts-in-responses-out) - [Kotlin Multiplatform - True power of native code reuse](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/4-kotlin-multiplatform-true-power-of-native-code-reuse) - [Exploring the Power of gRPC-Gateway for Writing RESTful Services](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2072-exploring-the-power-of-grpc-gateway-for-writing-restful-services) - [Microservices architecture as a key element in building trading systems for global finance markets](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1196-microservices-architecture-as-a-key-element-in-building-trading-systems-for-global-finance-markets) - [Leveraging Server-Sent Events (SSE) for Efficient Data Streaming in UI Development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/905-leveraging-server-sent-events-sse-for-efficient-data-streaming-in-ui-development) ## Related Articles - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [How Much FAANG Companies Actually Pay Software Engineers in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/230-how-much-faang-companies-actually-pay-software-engineers-in-2025) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [How Much Does a Software Engineer Make?
