To be successful in this role you must: * Have excellent analytical and numeracy skills * Be skilled in SQL * Be skilled in Python or R * Possess a passion for data and accuracy * Be very logical and very detailed * Have a numerate degree * Good written and verbal communication skills, comfortable explaining simple conclusions from complex analysis to anyone across the business * Be curious and demonstrate a strong desire to constantly learn * Be an effective communicator in both written and verbal English Nice to have but not essential: * Some experience with dbt would be advantageous * Experience with Mode or other similar data visualisation tools * Hands-on experience with LLMs, agentic patterns, and evaluation approaches, alongside an eagerness to keep pace with the rapidly evolving GenAI ecosystem. * Experience within an e-commerce business * Ability to communicate in French is a plus * Have an interest in sports and the outdoors ## Description At Sportscape, home of SportPursuit and Private Sport Shop we leverage data to deliver the right content to the right audience, optimise our marketing spend for maximum impact, make informed product purchasing decisions, and quickly address supply chain challenges. We have ambitious plans to do even more and further empower our teams with data-driven decision-making. To support these efforts, we are seeking a Data and Insight Analyst to join our Central Data Team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in using data and insights to enhance our business operations, driving revenue growth and improving efficiency as we scale. You will have the unique opportunity to collaborate closely with every team across the business. By understanding their operations and challenges, you'll identify how data can help solve problems and unlock new opportunities. A little bit more about this role: This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility for remote work and the opportunity to collaborate in person at either of our offices in London or Vendargues (France), where our team regularly comes together. This role suits someone in the early stage of their career. Some professional experience is welcome but we would highly value a passionate candidate with little to no professional experience. We look for someone who is genuinely interested in what makes our business tick, and how data and analysis can be used to understand and improve every aspect of the business, generating long-term value. The role will be varied and engaging, but will include: 1) Delivering Insight * Provide analytical insight for commercial owners across the business to both inform and support operational and strategic decision making. * Deliver ad hoc bespoke analysis and field queries to help the executive team and wider business answer key commercial questions. * Analyse web analytics data and provide insight on the likely explanations behind deviances with actionable suggestions for improvements. * Use Bayesian Statistics to run A/B Tests, delivering robust advice to the business on which improvements to implement. 2) Creating Data Models & Building Consistent Centralised Reporting * Model Development: Design, build, and maintain dbt models to support data needs and ensure optimal performance. Optimise our data infrastructure, ensuring clean, reliable data for our stakeholders. * Testing & documentation: Create dbt tests to validate data quality and prevent issues. Document model logic to ensure clarity and transparency. * Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement dbt best practices to enhance transformation efficiency.
