## About the Role

* Strong commercial experience developing software using Python
 * Experience working with AWS cloud services
 * Experience managing infrastructure using Terraform
 * Strong software engineering fundamentals and problem solving skills
 * Experience delivering solutions across the full development lifecycle
 * Ability to work independently within a highly technical environment
 * SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

Desirable:

 * Experience in mobile device and web browser automation
 * Experience working with Android emulation
 * Experience working with AI, machine learning or emerging technologies

## Description

The NCA is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to support a high profile programme within the National Cyber Crime Unit (NCCU) focused on disrupting the online facilitation of Organised Crime through AI and innovative technical capabilities.

Working within a multidisciplinary technical team, you will help build, enhance and scale software capabilities that support operational outcomes through automation, cloud technologies and modern software engineering practices.

As a Senior Software Developer you will:

 * Design, develop and maintain software solutions using Python
 * Build and deploy cloud native applications within AWS
 * Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform
 * Contribute across the full software development lifecycle from design through to deployment and support
 * Solve complex engineering challenges and build scalable technical capabilities
 * Collaborate with technical and operational stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions
 * Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational effectiveness
 * Support the scaling and enhancement of existing software capabilities
 * Contribute to AI enabled solutions and emerging technologies where appropriate
