* Strong commercial Java development experience
 * Good experience designing and building solutions in AWS
 * Full-stack development experience using JavaScript, React and TypeScript
 * Previous experience leading engineers or providing technical direction
 * An understanding of software architecture and technical design
 * Experience working throughout the full software development lifecycle
 * Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills
 * The ability to understand customer challenges and translate them into practical technical solutions
 * Strong commercial experience in software engineering and modern application development
 * Experience building scalable applications, APIs, and distributed systems
 * Experience working with cloud platforms and modern software delivery practices
 * Good understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and Infrastructure as Code
 * Must be able to obtain high-level UK security clearance
 * Must be a British citizen
 * Must have lived permanently in the UK for the last five years

* Leading and supporting a team of software engineers
 * Designing, developing and testing bespoke software solutions
 * Providing technical direction and communicating clearly with clients
 * Producing solution architectures and technical designs
 * Building full-stack applications using Java, JavaScript, React and TypeScript
 * Designing and deploying cloud-based solutions, primarily using AWS
 * Creating continuous integration pipelines using tools such as GitLab
 * Working across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through to delivery, support and maintenance
 * Deploying software into public and private cloud environments
 * Promoting high standards of software quality, security and engineering practice
