Depth in one backend ecosystem and sound tool choice matter more than familiarity with every technology listed. ## Description Senior Backend Engineers work across our backend organisation. Your team match will reflect your strengths, interests and where you can contribute most. Across every team, the model is the same: small, autonomous groups, short release cycles and ownership from problem definition through production. What you'll do * Own backend solutions end to end: understand the business problem, shape the requirements, design the solution, build it, test it, deploy it and run it in production. * Design and evolve services for performance, scale, resilience and data integrity. * Make clear technical decisions with a full understanding of the constraints, alternatives and trade-offs. * Keep code and systems maintainable as products and requirements evolve. * Diagnose difficult production problems, address their underlying causes and prevent recurrence. * Work closely with product and engineering colleagues to turn complex requirements into simple, durable solutions. * Review work critically, share knowledge and raise the engineering standard across the team. ## Related Videos - [Optimizing Discovery: PostgreSQL's Role in Transforming GetYourGuide's Search](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1647-optimizing-discovery-postgresql-s-role-in-transforming-getyourguide-s-search) - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Minimal infrastructure for Real‑Time Phone Agents: transcripts in, responses out](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1736-minimal-infrastructure-for-real-time-phone-agents-transcripts-in-responses-out) - [Microservices architecture as a key element in building trading systems for global finance markets](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1196-microservices-architecture-as-a-key-element-in-building-trading-systems-for-global-finance-markets) - [Meet Your New BFF: Backend to Frontend without the Duct Tape](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/682-meet-your-new-bff-backend-to-frontend-without-the-duct-tape) - [Dynamic Entities in .NET: Building Low-Code Systems on Top of Entity Framework Core](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100218-dynamic-entities-in-net-building-low-code-systems-on-top-of-entity-framework-core) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [What’s the Difference Between Frontend and Backend Development?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/240-what-s-the-difference-between-frontend-and-backend-development) - [20 Essential Tools For Backend Development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/218-20-essential-tools-for-backend-development) - [The 7 Most Popular Backend Frameworks for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/403-the-7-most-popular-backend-frameworks-for-developers) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated)
