As a HIM Specialist: * Identifies, researches and corrects data integrity issues within the Master Patient Index (MPI). Communicates MPI data integrity issues to all impacted areas. * Scans and indexes documents accurately and in a timely manner. * Analyzes medical record entries for completeness, timeliness, and accuracy according to department procedure; assures key medical record analysis functions are performed on each record and that any previous deficiencies in current charts are identified and noted in EMR. Audits accuracy of electronic entry and facilities resolution of any discrepancies. * Tracks and maintains records of all interactions using our internal systems. * Ensures all medical documentation is entered in the Electronic Medical REcord. * Conducts ongoing quality assurance activities in collaboration with the CDI Specialist and Director of HIM. * Analyzes medical record entries for completeness, timeliness, and accuracy according to department procedure; assures key medical record analysis functions are performed on each record and that any previous deficiencies in current charts are identified and noted in the EMR.
