The DoD Mission Software Engineer is responsible for proposing, designing, integrating, and the delivery of mission-critical software systems that operate in classified, contested, and disconnected environments. This role bridges mission needs, operational workflows, and modern software architectures, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and compliant with DoD cybersecurity and accreditation requirements. The Mission Software Engineer serves as the technical authority for solution design across cloud, edge, and on-prem environments, working closely with program leadership, systems engineering, cybersecurity, and DevSecOps teams to deliver ATO-ready mission software. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Mission Software Engineer at GDIT, you will shape how the DoD acquires, develops, and deploys mission-critical software capabilities that operate where it matters most: in classified, contested, and disconnected environments.
