The administrative functions required to support hospital patient flow in all areas within the Patient Flow Management Center. including but not limited to: Transfer Center: Assists in administrative functions of this department as needed, including but not limited to answering inbound calls, coordinating bridge calls, documentation incoming patient information in electronic health record. Assist in the facilitation of patient transfers by, creating MRNs, ensuring receipt of documentation from sending facilities, and tracking all incoming transfers and direct admission requests. Assists the Transfer Center RN with notification of pending cases to the Nursing Supervisor, Physician Advisor/Medical Officer on Duty, and/or Patient Flow AN2. Bed Planning: Assigns beds and tracks all in-patient and out-patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. Staffing: Coordinates and assigns nursing, clinical, and clerical staff resources for inpatient nursing units, ancillary/service departments, and Emergency Department, tracks personnel schedules, schedule changes, documents sick calls and replacement staff in ANSOS system. Dispatch: Utilizes Epic EMR system to create assignment requests and dispatch staff. Contacts supervisors in appropriate departments immediately for escalations. Provide exceptional customer service. Emergency Preparedness: Initiation of Bed and Staff Poll, completion of HAvBED Polling information. Participates and provides bed availability and documentation during Code Green and Code Triage. Patient Property: Secures patient property in accordance with University policy and California state law regarding liability of damage or loss of patient property and the terms of safe keeping of abandoned property. Document all incoming and outgoing patient belonging inventory in electronic health record. Discharge Reception Area: Help to facilitate in the timely discharge of patients in our facility DRA lobby and patients scheduled to discharge from the floor by delivering DME, patient property, discharge medications or any other task as assigned.
