Desirable * Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern UI frameworks. * Knowledge of modularisation and multi-module architectures. * Familiarity with automated testing (unit, integration, UI). * Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI). * Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS or Azure). * Understanding of cross-platform or shared architecture approaches. This is a high-impact, hands-on position where you will drive technical direction, own critical parts of the architecture, and deliver high-quality mobile experiences for a large and growing user base. You'll work within a cross-functional product team, collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to build performant, scalable, and maintainable Android applications., Technical Ownership & Architecture * Own and evolve the Android application architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability. * Lead the design and delivery of complex features and system improvements. * Make informed technical decisions, balancing user experience, speed, and engineering complexity. * Ensure best practices across architecture, design patterns, and code quality. Engineering Excellence * Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern Android development practices. * Drive improvements in code quality, testing, and developer experience. * Lead and contribute to code reviews, setting a high bar for engineering standards. * Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools, libraries, and frameworks where appropriate. Delivery & Collaboration * Partner with Product and Design to shape requirements, user journeys, and technical solutions. * Collaborate with Backend teams to define and optimise APIs and data flows. * Contribute to a fast, iterative release cadence supported by CI/CD. * Actively participate in Agile processes, ensuring predictable and high-quality delivery. Leadership & Mentorship * Mentor and support other engineers, driving technical growth and best practices. * Lead by example in both delivery and behaviour, fostering a strong engineering culture. * Provide technical guidance and contribute to team-level decision making. * Act as a key point of contact for Android within the wider engineering organisation.
