This SME acts as a high-impact force multiplier, identifying opportunities to reduce manual workloads, accelerate production timelines, and introduce advanced analytics that enhance mission effectiveness. Given its limited allocation, this role focuses on targeted, high-value solutions, not routine sustainment. Responsibilities include developing Python or FME-based ETL pipelines for automated ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and scheduled processing of geospatial data. The SME will also research, prototype, and deploy machine-learning and GeoAI models, including object detection, feature extraction, and predictive analytics tailored to mission use cases. The Automation/AI SME identifies workflow bottlenecks and designs streamlined automation tools, assists developers with complex spatial algorithms such as routing, suitability modeling, classification, or spatial optimization, and advises the architect and GPMO on emerging AI frameworks, libraries, and best practices. This position is hands-on, working directly with customers and Senior Leadership to demonstrate new technologies, produce proofs of concept, and guide the adoption of advanced automation and AI methods across the enterprise.
