* Strong data governance and data controls experience.
 * At least 3-4 similar discovery or review engagements.
 * Hands-on experience with data quality, lineage, reconciliation, and control design.
 * Financial services experience.
 * Ability to work across business, technology, risk, and compliance teams.
 * Strong stakeholder management and report-writing skills.
 * Mortgage, lending, or credit experience is desirable.
 * Experience with legacy or Microsoft-based environments is desirable.
 * Experience shaping remediation roadmaps is desirable.

* Review data governance and control frameworks.
 * Assess data quality, lineage, privacy, and records management.
 * Review data completeness, accuracy, and reconciliation controls.
 * Investigate schemas, databases, and data flows.
 * Assess data movement into downstream reporting and credit-modelling systems.
 * Identify key risks, control gaps, and remediation priorities.
 * Produce a clear findings and recommendations pack.
 * Support a mortgage provider with an 8-week discovery engagement.
 * Assess the current data governance and controls environment across core mortgage, data, insight, and credit-modelling systems., We are supporting a mortgage provider on an 8-week discovery engagement for an experienced Data Governance & Controls Consultant. We will assess the current data governance and controls environment across core mortgage, data, insight, and credit-modelling systems, identify gaps and risks, and produce a prioritised remediation plan. There may be a follow-on implementation phase subject to client approval.
