This person will be primarily responsible for front-line IT support. Employee technology questions, service requests, equipment issues, account problems, and other technical concerns will be directed to this position first. The specialist will be expected to investigate each issue, resolve it when possible, and coordinate with the department manager or an outside provider when escalation is necessary. The position will also assist with the ongoing maintenance of the company's website, mobile application, internal systems, and other digital platforms. When regular IT responsibilities allow, the specialist will have opportunities to participate in development, automation, artificial intelligence, and other technology projects alongside the department manager and members of company management. Because this position supports employees and maintains on-site technology, reliable attendance and availability in the office from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. are essential. Primary Responsibilities Front-Line IT Support * Serve as the company's first point of contact for IT questions, requests, and technical problems. * Provide timely support to employees experiencing hardware, software, account, network, printer, mobile-device, or connectivity issues. * Investigate reported problems, communicate with affected employees, and take ownership of each issue through resolution. * Resolve common technical problems independently and escalate more complex issues when necessary. * Track open requests and provide clear updates until each issue is completed. * Identify recurring problems and recommend solutions that address their underlying causes. Systems and Equipment Administration * Set up and configure computers, user accounts, email, software, permissions, phones, and other equipment for employees. * Manage IT-related onboarding and offboarding activities. * Maintain company computers, networking equipment, wireless access points, printers, cameras, and other technology. * Assist with the administration of Microsoft 365, cloud services, shared resources, user access, and security permissions. * Install software, operating-system updates, security patches, and approved applications. * Maintain an accurate inventory of computers, mobile devices, software licenses, and other IT assets. * Monitor systems for equipment failures, security concerns, backup issues, and maintenance needs. * Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and outside technical resources when necessary. * Maintain clear documentation of systems, procedures, configurations, equipment, and common troubleshooting processes. Website, Application, and Development Support * Perform routine maintenance and content or configuration updates for the company website. * Assist with maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and updates for the company's mobile application and other internal platforms. * Investigate and document issues reported by website or application users. * Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside developers when changes or advanced technical work are required. * Participate in software development, automation, artificial intelligence, data, and other engineering projects when front-line IT responsibilities permit. * Work with the department manager and other members of management to test, document, deploy, and support new technology solutions. * Develop technical skills over time and take on increased responsibility within company technology projects., The employee's responsibilities should generally be prioritized in the following order: * Urgent employee, security, or business-critical IT issues. * Routine employee support requests and IT maintenance. * Website, mobile application, and digital-platform maintenance. * Documentation, system improvements, and preventive work. * Development and special technology projects. Development opportunities are an important part of the position, but they should not interfere with the employee's responsibility to remain available and responsive to the company's front-line IT needs. What Success Looks Like A successful person in this position will: * Be reliably present and available during established office hours. * Become the person employees know to contact first when they have a technology problem. * Respond promptly and professionally to support requests. * Take ownership of issues without requiring repeated reminders or supervision. * Know when to resolve an issue independently and when it should be escalated. * Keep employees informed rather than allowing requests to disappear without an update. * Maintain the company's technology, website, application, and documentation in an organized and reliable condition. * Use periods of lower support demand productively. * Identify opportunities to prevent problems and improve systems. * Gradually contribute to more advanced development and engineering projects as skills, performance, and available time allow.
