Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Production Support Engineer - 12 months FTC - **Company:** Sky UK - **Location:** London, UK - **Contract:** Temporary contract - **Skills:** Microsoft Windows, Amazon Web Services, Cloud Computing, Computer Networks, Graphics Software, SQL Databases, Xml Files, Adobe, Avid Media Composer, Hardware Infrastructure - **Published:** August 6, 2026 - **Apply:** https://uk.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=ae8def35be99443a ## About the Role * A degree or equivalent qualification in Broadcast Engineering, Media Technologies, or similar. * A strong understanding of the technical elements of a broadcast TV chain, encompassing traditional broadcast systems as well as modern IP, cloud and software-based production solutions * Previous experience working in a support role within broadcast production engineering, with confidence fault-finding across live production and post-production environments * A highly effective, positive, and influential communication style; demonstration of excellent people skills, communication skills, and coaching * Understanding and experience working with Broadcast IP standards and implementation including SMPTE 2022, SMPTE 2110, AoIP (AES67) and PTP * Competency with IT and computer networking * A structured and analytical mindset when diagnosing both hardware and software technical problems through logical reasoning and systematic troubleshooting Desirable Criteria: * Previous industry experience supporting TV graphics systems and workflows, such as VizRT, Chyron, Unity, AR/VR graphics, graphics playout, template workflows and associated control systems * Experience troubleshooting the wider technical stack behind graphics systems, including GPU-based hardware, Windows systems, XML files, graphics data feeds, SQL databases, log interrogation and general workstation or server hardware * Working knowledge of standard broadcast systems such as Calrec Audio, Riedel Comms, Grass Valley routers and vision mixers, BNCS/Cerebrum control systems, EVS replay systems, Ross automation systems, AWS/cloud infrastructure and editing systems including Avid, Adobe and Quantel ## Description As a key member of the UK Production Engineering support team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of Sky's television production facilities. Supporting flagship channels such as Sky News, Sky Sports News and major Sky Sports productions, you'll combine strong core broadcast engineering fundamentals across video, audio, graphics, networking, software and control systems with the flexibility to support both traditional broadcast and modern, software-driven production environments. This role is designed to suit a well-rounded broadcast engineer, while also recognising the added value of previous industry experience supporting TV graphics systems and related workflows.
