## About the Role

Strong experience managing, delivering or supporting technology platforms within a Compliance, Financial Crime or Regulatory environment.
Good understanding of banking compliance functions, including AML, Sanctions, Regulatory Compliance, Conduct Risk, Surveillance and Compliance Monitoring.
Proven experience delivering and managing complex IT change initiatives, preferably within a regulated financial services organisation.
Experience acting as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating regulatory and compliance requirements into technology solutions.
Strong understanding of project and programme delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives, dependencies, priorities and stakeholders within a matrix organisation.
Experience working with third-party vendors, software providers and implementation partners.

## Description

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We're looking for a Compliance Technology Lead - Vice President (m/w/d) for our IT department to join our team.

The Compliance Systems VP (m/w/d) is responsible for the delivery, stability and evolution of IT systems supporting the Bank's Compliance function. The role works in close partnership with Compliance stakeholders to support technology change across key compliance domains, including Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crime, AML, Sanctions, Conduct, Surveillance and Compliance Monitoring.

The role focuses on managing the IT change portfolio for Compliance, ensuring systems and data capabilities continue to meet business, regulatory and governance requirements. It requires a strong blend of technology delivery experience and compliance domain knowledge, enabling effective translation of regulatory and compliance requirements into technology solutions and structured change initiatives.

The position acts as a key interface between Compliance, IT delivery teams and external vendors, ensuring compliance systems are fit for purpose, well controlled and capable of supporting both day-to-day compliance activities and evolving regulatory expectations., Own the delivery, stability and ongoing evolution of IT systems supporting the Bank's Compliance function.
Act as the primary IT interface for Compliance, working closely with stakeholders across Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crime, AML, Sanctions, Conduct and Surveillance functions.
Manage and coordinate the IT change portfolio for Compliance systems, including prioritisation, planning, dependency management and delivery tracking.
Translate compliance, regulatory and supervisory requirements into structured technology change initiatives and system enhancements.
Coordinate delivery across internal IT teams and external vendors to ensure compliance systems meet functional, data, monitoring and reporting requirements.
Monitor delivery progress across the Compliance IT portfolio, providing clear status reporting on milestones, risks, issues and dependencies.
Identify delivery, data or system risks and ensure appropriate mitigation actions and escalations are in place.
Support regulatory, audit and supervisory engagements by providing IT input, system documentation and delivery transparency for compliance platforms.
Ensure compliance systems operate in line with internal technology standards, governance and control expectations.
Contribute to the definition of technology roadmaps for Compliance systems, supporting future regulatory obligations, financial crime requirements and business needs.
