Our work spans the full product life cycle, from early engineering validation to high-volume production, and we are known across the company for tackling tough problems head-on and getting it done. This team moves fast. Projects can go from idea to deployed test equipment in just weeks, supporting products on the cutting edge of Tesla's innovation. The pace is demanding, and priorities can shift quickly, but that's what makes the work exciting and impactful. As the team grows, we are looking for engineers who not only enjoy tinkering and building but also want to bring clarity and structure to how we operate. The ideal candidate thrives on hands-on problem solving, takes ownership, and is eager to grow. You'll have the chance to design real systems, see them in production, and directly shape how the team scales. Superior work is noticed, responsibility is high, and the impact is immediate. This is your opportunity to be part of the "machine that builds the machine" at Tesla's newly opened factory in Reno, Nevada. What You'll Do * Develop end-to-end test strategies using in house automation framework (Python, Go, AWX), and drive continuous improvement across all vehicle programs * Create, analyze and review schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical circuits (EPLAN, Altium) * Conduct failure analysis on electronic components and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve design and manufacturing processes * Troubleshoot from PCBAs and software/firmware up through full system-level integration spanning communication protocols (CAN, LIN, I2C, Ethernet) and functional validation * Execute multiple projects in parallel, applying strong technical judgment while balancing priorities and aligning cross-functional needs ## Related Videos - [Building a hypercar from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/607-building-a-hypercar-from-scratch) - [Playing Pong on a shoulder press machine](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100140-playing-pong-on-a-shoulder-press-machine) - [The Gashlycrumb Tinies of AI Networking You Must Know (or Languish!)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2067-the-gashlycrumb-tinies-of-ai-networking-you-must-know-or-languish) - [Software stack under and over the hood of the fastest accelerating car in the world](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/221-software-stack-under-and-over-the-hood-of-the-fastest-accelerating-car-in-the-world) - [Agent Smith Gets Hardware: Autonomous IoT Hacking From Debug Port to Cloud API](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100258-agent-smith-gets-hardware-autonomous-iot-hacking-from-debug-port-to-cloud-api) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) ## Related Articles - [How software is steering vehicle technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/515-how-software-is-steering-vehicle-technology) - [The 8 Best Code Testing Tools](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/402-the-8-best-code-testing-tools) - [Top Characteristics of a Software Engineer](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/166-top-characteristics-of-a-software-engineer) - [Is Software Engineering Hard?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/448-is-software-engineering-hard) - [Top-Paying Tech Jobs (with Salaries)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/372-top-paying-tech-jobs-with-salaries) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs)
