## About the Role

* Several years of commercial product-design experience, with the ability to take work from problem through to implementation.
 * Strong UI and interaction-design skills, with a good eye for hierarchy, typography, spacing and responsive behaviour.
 * Exceptional attention to detail.
 * The ability to investigate an existing product, understand the problem and propose a solution without step-by-step direction.
 * Good systems thinking and comfort working within an established design language.
 * Confidence working directly with developers, explaining reasoning and discussing practical compromises.
 * Good judgement about when to make a decision independently and when wider product, business or technical input is needed.
 * Professional Figma experience, including components, Auto Layout, variables or design tokens, responsive layouts and prototyping.
 * A portfolio showing real product work, with clear explanation of the problem, reasoning, constraints and collaboration.
 * Experience with responsive web, native/mobile products, SaaS, operational tools or design systems would be useful.

## Description

* Own product-design problems from investigation through to handoff.
 * Develop concepts, wireframes and rough flows into polished, implementation-ready designs.
 * Independently deliver smaller features and improvements, with increasing ownership as familiarity with the products grows.
 * Adapt established patterns appropriately across desktop, mobile and operational environments.
 * Use and contribute to our existing design system and component libraries.
 * Consider meaningful states, edge cases and responsive behaviour.
 * Work directly with developers throughout implementation, discussing constraints, reviewing the finished result and resolving meaningful differences.
 * Contribute ideas, share knowledge and constructively challenge existing approaches when a better solution is identified.
